I write to make things permanent. It is my desperate attempt to capture beauty and truth, like a black and white photograph of a smile taken when someone isn’t looking. But ...ng lasts forever. And Nothing is captured accurately. I write to have the power to choose which incomplete thoughts will be put to ink, to a tangible form, and which are so grand they have the honor of fading with me. I write because I have always believed in hope and love and impossibility and a Something Else. But, above all, I write to understand what I don’t know and misunderstand what I think I know. More
